What is habit stacking?
Habit stacking is the concept of introducing a new behavior, by stacking it to an already-existing habit. It is a way for you to be able to introduce a new habit or behavior into your routine and actually stick with it.
How does it work?
For example, after you brush your teeth in the morning, you go for a 10-minute walk immediately after. Another example would be to go to the gym immediately after leaving work. You will want to use an existing habit that is regular in your routine. The current habit aids as a reminder to perform the new habit. This takes time to get used to, which is why scheduling things in your phone or planner is helpful to have another safety net as you are getting into your new routine. Want to learn more?
