FAQ

Do I need a referral from my Doctor?

No! We are direct access, meaning you do not need a referral from your Doctor to be seen for physical therapy. If you have had a recent surgery, we ask that you upload your protocol or specific instructions from your surgeon into the online paperwork, or bring it to your first session.

Do you take insurance?

We do not accept insurance, as we are an out of network provider. Some insurance companies (except Medicare, Medicaid, and some HMO’s) will provide reimbursement for payment to out-of-network providers. This is the patient’s responsibility to work with their insurance provider to determine if they are eligible. We are happy to provide receipts (super bills) if necessary for possible insurance reimbursement purposes.

Why don’t you take insurance?

Delivering the best possible care to our clients does not always align with the rules that insurance places on a physical therapist. After working in the insurance model for years, I want to be able to treat patients by doing what is best for them, and without being limited by insurance rules and restrictions.

Traditional physical therapy has you seen 2-3 times per week. At Arch Physical Therapy and Fitness, we value your time and money. Each session is one-to-one, designed for client-centered care, leaving time to teach you how to manage your pain and improve function on your own in between sessions. This opens the possibility to decrease the frequency that you need to be seen compared to traditional PT. Copays for visits 2-3x/week can add up under insurance-based care!

What does working with you look like?

As a physical therapist, I use a combination of physical therapy and strength training principles to help you meet your goal.  The first session will be an evaluation of your full body movement, with discussion of your goals, previous injuries, etc. From there we will create a plan to reach your goals which may entail strength training, manual therapy or dry needling. Each session is 55 minutes, in between session, Schuyler will send you any home exercises we discussed, and be available for question between sessions.

If you have any questions, please email me at schuyler@archphysicaltherapyandfitness.com.
